On first look, the project seemed to be super lame. I should be thankful we lost to them even though I was the only one in my group tryhard-ing to get that hard-ass project.Īnyway, the simpler design project we got was by NUS and it is to design a toilet bowl seat frame for the elderly and perhaps a small group of people with disabilities (PWDs). We were actually competing with another group of Y3s to take on a company project (by Applied Materials) which was much tougher. As mentioned at the end of my first paragraph, my group got assigned a pretty simple project unintentionally.

I was honestly surprised that there were still people like me who have yet to clear DP in Y3. On my end, I was super lucky to have been invited to a group of Y4s whom most I already knew beforehand. There was also peer review which might affect grades. Why I say this is because I genuinely thought DP is a mod centered around a singular GROUP PROJECT. This mod had a whopping 45% individual component (CA1, CA2, CA3 15% each) and a mere 55% group component (Final Report + Presentation). Although the end grade might not differ by much in general, the workload and stress experienced in DP varies from project to project. I feel that this mod actually depends heavily on what project you get.

Hello hello! Merry Christmas people! Thanks for joining me the past 3 years of module reviews and I hope you will enjoy reading this one too! My journey in NUS as an ME undergrad has been pretty fulfilling and enjoyable thus far.Īh yes, the notorious mod known as the design project or DP for short.
